Split Rock Partners is built on a strong foundation - our history of working with successful healthcare and software entrepreneurs, a wide network of complementary resources to benefit our portfolio companies, a proven operating and administrative infrastructure, and the continued capital commitment of our long-time limited partner. We look forward to building on this foundation with energy and enthusiasm for the opportunities emerging in the vibrant industry sectors on which we focus.
Split Rock Partners was formed in 2004 by the partners responsible for healthcare and software investing within SPVC. The Split Rock team continues to manage the SPVC healthcare and software and internet services portfolio. In May of 2008, we raised $300 million in our second Split Rock Partners fund, the successor to our inaugural $275 million fund raised in April 2005.
As general partners in St. Paul Venture Capital (SPVC), the founders of Split Rock Partners helped build a venture capital practice that was consistently among the largest and most active in the country. Formed in 1988, SPVC raised six funds and managed over $1 billion in venture capital.
